Cricket West Indies sack their entire selection panel

West Indies are going through a rough patch in their history. They were far from being impressive in the T20 World Cup 2021 in the Gulf nation. The Caribbeans arrived in the tournament as one of the favourites but they
out of the competition early on.

West Indies Cricket Board has taken a big decision on Saturday.  Cricket West Indies has dismissed its selection committee and formed an interim selection committee.  The board has told that a new panel will be constituted soon.  Team head coach Phil Simmons will head the interim committee and captains of all formats of the team will shoulder this responsibility with him.

“The recruitment will replace Lead Selector Roger Harper and fellow Selector Miles Bascombe, whose contracts will not be renewed when they come to an end on December 31,” the CWI shared in a statement.

According to a Cricket West Indies press release, chief selector Roger Harper and his teammate Miles Bascombe will be replaced. When the agreement of these two ends, after that they will not be extended. However the agreement of Roger Harper and Miles Bascombe is going to end on December 31.

The Interim Selection Panel has been established, with Head Coach Phil Simmons, along with the captains in the respective men’s formats. Outgoing selector Roger thanked CWI in his statement and extended his best wishes to the organisation.
